William Beaumont was born on the 21st of November, 1785. He was known for being a Physiologist. Doctor who became known as the “Father of Gastric Physiology” for performing a pioneering study of human digestion. He conducted a set of experiments on the effects that temperature, exercise and even emotions have on the digestive process.
William Beaumont was born in CT. He worked assisting an Army surgeon during the War of 1812. He published Experiments and Observations on the Gastric Juice, and the Physiology of Digestion in 1838. A highway is named after him in his hometown of Lebanon.
