Christina Hall faced challenges and nervousness while renovating her parents’ home in Orange County, California, for her HGTV show, “Christina on the Coast,” due to her father’s dislike for disorder and her differing style from her mother. Despite initial worries, the project turned out to be a fun and carefree experience, highlighting the trust and bond within her family, and is featured in the upcoming season of her show.
Christina Hall expressed initial nervousness about renovating her neat-freak father’s and stylistically different mother’s home in Orange County for her HGTV show, “Christina on the Coast,” but found the experience ultimately rewarding and fun.
Christina Hall, ever the renovation wizard, decided to revamp her folks’ place in Orange County. That’s no small feat, right? Especially since her dad is the type who likes everything just so. Neat freak, you know? She spilled the beans to Us Weekly, amidst promoting Christina on the Coast‘s fifth season.
Her dad, Paul Haack, isn’t one for chaos. Disorder? Sends him up the wall. Christina was, understandably, a tad worried about how he’d handle the upheaval. And her mom, Laurie? Well, let’s just say their design tastes aren’t exactly twins. But, plot twist: it all went smoother than expected. They trusted her. How sweet is that?
Working with her parents turned out to be a blast. More laid-back than usual. "Hanging out with them more and the whole thing [overall] was actually really good," she reminisced. And then there was this funny bit. Christina brought her BFF, Cassie, over mid-renovation. Cassie’s not one to mince words.
Cassie was all, "Wait, what? You’re keeping THAT entertainment center?" And, "The flooring too? Really?" It was like stepping into a time warp back to 1985. Christina found the whole exchange hilarious. She joked about starting a whole new show around it.
But here’s the kicker: after a heart-to-heart, her parents actually reconsidered the whole makeover. Mid-renovation, no less! "My mom [said] to my dad, ‘Well, what do you think? Should we do the entertainment center?’" Christina was floored.
This season isn’t just about her family’s home, though. Christina’s tackling some massive projects. We’re talking full homes, stripped down to the studs. Fans are in for a treat, seeing these transformations from start to finish.
Christina on the Coast season 5 is hitting HGTV this July 11 at 9 p.m. ET. And for those who can’t wait, it’s also streaming on Max the same day. Get ready for some serious home makeover magic.
