Survivor 45 Contestant Drew Basile Competes on Jeopardy

Drew Basile, known from “Survivor 45,” is set to compete on “Jeopardy!” against the current champion, Adriana Harmeyer, who has won 15 straight games with total winnings of $349,600. Basile, who made it to the final 6 in “Survivor” and has a background as a trivia team captain and competitive Scrabble player, aims to prove his intellectual prowess on the quiz show.

Drew Basile from “Survivor 45” is set to compete on “Jeopardy!” against super champ Adriana Harmeyer, marking the first time a “Survivor” alum has appeared on the trivia show.

Oh, guess what? Drew Basile, that guy from Survivor 45, is stepping onto a whole different kind of island. This time, it’s the brainy battleground of Jeopardy!.

He’s ditching the sandy shores of Fiji for the spotlight under Alex Trebek’s legacy. "Officially playing super champ Adriana Harmeyer tmrw night on Jeopardy!," he tweeted on June 18. He even threw in a pic with Ken Jennings. Talk about leveling up, huh?

Basile’s up against Harmeyer, who’s basically a Jeopardy! titan with a 15-0 winning streak. Meanwhile, our boy Drew’s reality TV score? 0-1. But hey, who doesn’t root for the underdog?

Wednesday’s the big day for Basile. And get this – Harmeyer just snagged her 15th win, pocketing a cool $349,600. No pressure, Drew.

Making history, Basile’s the first Survivor alum to hit the Jeopardy! stage. But there’s more trivia love in the reality TV air. Juveria Zaheer, a former champ and sister to Survivor 42‘s Omar Zaheer, snagged $70,800 in the Second Chance tournament.

Remember Basile from Survivor? The kid was the youngest in season 45, finishing sixth. He was part of the Reba 4 alliance, playing the strategist.

Though he and Julie “Mama J” Alley didn’t make it to the final tribal council, their buddy Dee Valladares won the title of Sole Survivor. Not too shabby for the team.

Austin Li Coon, another ally, cheered Basile on for Jeopardy!. “LET’S GO DREW!!!!!!! Smartest to ever play Survivor LFG,” he tweeted. Talk about support.

Basile’s no stranger to trivia. Captain of his trivia team, they clinched a national championship in 2019. Plus, he’s into competitive Scrabble. Brainy much?

Jeopardy! isn’t just about the questions. It’s had its share of oops moments and controversies. Even Ken Jennings, Mr. Longest Winning Streak, has slipped up.

Basile’s pretty confident, calling himself one of the smartest Survivor players. He loves dropping literature references and analogies. A true brainiac.

Post-Survivor, Basile’s hitting the books again. He’s at Oxford, diving into English Literature for his master’s. "The haters have called me a know-it-all,” he posted on Instagram. “It’s time to prove them right.”

Catch Basile’s Jeopardy! appearance on ABC at 7 p.m. local time. Will he add a Jeopardy! win to his resume? Stay tuned.
