Christine Brown’s daughters do not feel comfortable using the term “stepdad” for their mom’s new husband, David Woolley, with Aspyn preferring to simply refer to him as their mom’s husband. The girls, along with other family members, all expressed their excitement and support for Christine’s wedding to David, with Mykelti already considering him as her stepfather. However, the wedding caused some tension among the family as not all the children from the Sister Wives cast were invited to the event.
Christine Brown’s daughters do not feel that “stepdad” is the right word for their mom’s new husband, David Woolley, and prefer to refer to him simply as their mom’s husband because “everyone’s just family.”
Christine Brown’s daughters recently opened up about why they don’t feel comfortable calling their mom’s new husband, David Woolley, “stepdad.” During a recent episode of Sister Wives: Christine and David’s Wedding special, Christine’s eldest daughter, Aspyn Brown admitted, “I wouldn’t call him that. He’s our mom’s husband.” Aspyn went on to explain that the idea of a “stepdad” feels foreign to her, so she just prefers to think of David as her mom’s husband.
It seems the sentiment is shared by Aspyn’s sister, Ysabel Brown, who agreed, saying, “Everyone’s just family. Let’s just say family.” Their father, Kody Brown, also weighed in on the topic, sharing that he doesn’t necessarily expect the kids to call David “dad” or “stepdad,” adding, “Maybe. But it doesn’t matter. This is all their choice.”
Christine shares six children with ex-husband Kody: daughters Aspyn, Mykelti, Ysabel, Gwendlyn, and Truely, as well as son Paedon. Following the split from Kody, Christine married David Woolley in October 2023. With Mykelti and Truely expressing acceptance of David as their stepfather, it’s clear that the family is moving forward and coming together to support their mom’s new chapter.
But it seems not everyone was present for the wedding, with Gwendlyn Brown notably absent. However, Christine’s other daughters were by her side to celebrate the special day. It wasn’t just the kids who showed their support for Christine and David; Janelle and her eldest daughter, Maddie, also expressed their love and approval for Christine’s new marriage. All the family love and support should be a wonderful omen for a happy future for the newlyweds – and for the entire Brown family.
