Palestinian-American historian and author who wrote historical books and newspaper and magazine articles. Her publications include The Creation of Qatar, The Making of the Modern Gulf States, and Technology Transfer and Change in the Arab World.

RoseMarie Said Zahlan was born in Egypt. She studied in the United States, earning a degree in musicology from Pennsylvania’s Bryn Mawr College. She went on to receive her Ph.D. in history in London. She taught in Cairo and at the American University of Beirut.
