Rachel Recchia supports Gabi Elnicki after dramatic encounter with Zach Shallcross on “The Bachelor” finale

Former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia expressed her support for Gabi Elnicki during the March 27 finale, following Elnicki’s confrontation with Zach Shallcross. Recchia, a former contestant on the show, tweeted that showing vulnerability was difficult and that Elnicki was “a queen” for doing so. Shallcross, who had a relationship with Elnicki during the series, had previously shared details of their sex life with another contestant.

Former Bachelorette contestant Rachel Recchia tweeted support for Gabi Elnicki after she became emotional during a confrontation with Zach Shallcross about him revealing they had sex on their overnight date.

Former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia showed support for Gabi Elnicki via Twitter during the Monday, March 27 finale. Recchia empathized with Elnicki when she cried during her confrontation with Zach Shallcross, recalling how vulnerable it is to show emotions in front of the cameras.

Elnicki, a 25-year-old from Vermont, confronted Shallcross over revealing their sexual intimacy during their overnight date to Kaity Biggar and the nation. Elnicki expressed how heartbroken she was, believing that their relationship was more than just a TV show. Shallcross apologized, mentioning how he never intended to hurt her and how sorry he was.

Aside from Recchia offering her support on social media, Jason Tartick posted on Instagram about having both Elnicki and Ariel Frenkel as the next Bachelorettes. In response to Tartick’s post, Recchia “liked” it, supporting the idea of having women back-to-back on the show.

Throughout season 27, Shallcross has accused Rachel of treating their overnight date like an “interview” and being different off camera. However, she had the opportunity to address such accusations on the “Almost Famous” podcast last month.

In the Monday finale, Shallcross got engaged to Biggar, and although it was tough to see the episode with Elnicki, they came out stronger. The couple intends to move in together in Austin, and they plan to wed in 2025. The Bachelor franchise will feature season 20 of The Bachelorette next, with Charity — a former contestant from season 20 — as the lead.
