Marlo Hampton has announced her departure from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” ahead of its 16th season, citing the end of her contract and a desire for a fresh start to focus on new creative projects and her personal life, including her nephews’ academic adolescence. Hampton, who joined the show in its 4th season and became a full-fledged Housewife by season 14, expressed gratitude for the platform the show provided and looks forward to her continued relationship with Bravo and NBC Universal.
Marlo Hampton confirms her departure from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” ahead of Season 16, citing the end of her contract, a desire for new creative projects, and focusing on her nephews and philanthropy as reasons for her break.
Marlo Hampton’s making a big change. Yep, she’s stepping back from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” as season 16 looms on the horizon. Said goodbye to her peach, she did. And oh, what a journey it’s been.
“My contract wrapped up with the end of season 15,” she spilled to Us Weekly. A fresh start, she’s calling it. Time to dive into new ventures, she says, leaving the past to be just that—past.
And it’s not just about her career. Her nephews, Michael and William, are growing up fast, hitting those crucial teenage years. She wants to be there, be a role model. Plus, she’s not giving up on showing off her love for fashion, philanthropy, and all things fabulous.
Marlo wasn’t just any cast member. She joined the “RHOA” family in season 4, initially as a friend. By season 14, she was a full-fledged Housewife. Last we saw her was in season 15, aired in 2023. During her time, we got a peek into her life with her nephews and her fashion brand, Le’Archive.
Oh, and there’s been talk. Talk of exits and changes. Kandi Burruss, another long-standing member, also confirmed she’s leaving the show. “It’s been 14 seasons,” she told Variety, hinting at new projects on her horizon.
But back to Marlo. She’s grateful, truly. “Housewives” gave her a platform. A platform to shine a light on foster care, her nonprofit Glam It Up, Inc., and, of course, her fashion showroom.
Bravo echoed her sentiments, resharing her statement. It’s a mutual appreciation, it seems. And as for the future of “RHOA”? Season 15 had its cast—Shereé Whitfield, Kenya Moore, Drew Sidora, and Sanya Richards-Ross. Yet, whispers of a “reboot” linger, much like what happened with “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
Kandi Burruss mused on potential changes. “Every time they want to change people, it’s a mix of emotions,” she shared with Us Weekly. But she remains open-minded, nostalgic for the original crew yet welcoming to newcomers.
As for season 16, Bravo’s keeping mum. No word yet on the cast or any major shakeups. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
