Katie Maloney and Lala Kent, former cast members of Vanderpump Rules, were not impressed with Tom Schwartz’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. During the show, the 40-year-old reality star asked for sympathy for his friend and business partner Tom Sandoval over the fallout from his affair with Raquel Leviss. Schwartz requested that people give Sandoval a hug, stating that he knows he’s a monster for what he did.
Maloney, who finalized her divorce from Schwartz, tweeted a clip of his comment, expressing her disbelief that he would be the only person who wanted to hug Sandoval. She further criticized him on her Instagram Stories, stating that he needed media training.
Kent added her thoughts on her Instagram Stories, expressing her outrage over Schwartz’s comment and stating that Sandoval deserved an atomic wedgie or a punch in the d—k. Kent criticized Schwartz for continually defending Sandoval despite his indiscretions.
The controversy began in March when Sandoval’s nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix ended over the scandal. Schwartz admitted on the show that he knew about Sandoval’s affair since August 2022 but didn’t think it was linear. Sandoval continued the emotional affair with Leviss, leading to his confession to Schwartz in January that he was in love with her.
While Schwartz admitted that what Sandoval did was inappropriate, he also tried to evoke empathy for his friend and asked that people not engage in vigilantism against him. Vanderpump Rules, which airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET, has been experiencing nonstop controversy due to the scandal.
