Kaity Biggar remains close friends with Gabi Elnicki despite everything that happened between her and Zach Shallcross during the finale of The Bachelor.
Kaity Biggar, the winner of The Bachelor season 27, is confident that she will remain friends with runner-up Gabi Elnicki despite the events that unfolded during the show’s finale. In an interview with Us Weekly’s “Here for the Right Reasons” podcast, Kaity revealed that she and Gabi, along with several other contestants, have already taken trips together and are very close.
During the final rose ceremony, Gabi arrived confident that Zach Shallcross, the Bachelor, would choose Kaity. After stepping in mud upon exiting the car, Gabi declared, “When it actually matters, when Kaity arrives, don’t do that to her,” referring to the mud on her dress. Kaity told Us Weekly that Gabi had clued her in on the remark after they finished filming, and they “were just howling about it.”
Zach ultimately chose Kaity and proposed to her during the finale. However, during the After the Final Rose special, Gabi confronted Zach about telling Kaity and “the whole nation” that they had sex during their overnight date. Zach explained that he initially tried to keep it a secret out of fear that it would complicate his decision, but the guilt ate at him. He expressed remorse for the pain he caused Gabi but insisted that his intentions were pure.
While it was tough for Kaity to watch the events of the show play out, she knows that Zach was doing his best. She said that she wasn’t in his shoes and understood that he wanted to avoid muddying the waters. Despite the hurdles they faced on the show, Kaity believes that they came out stronger in the end.
