Janelle Brown of Sister Wives fame is mourning the loss of her beloved dog, Jack. The furry friend passed away after an unexpected illness that struck him suddenly last week. Brown took to Instagram to thank the vets at Canyon Pet Hospital for their hard work but noted that Jack’s body couldn’t overcome the disease. She shared photos of her late pet and described him as a family dog that she and her mother adopted years ago.
Brown recalled how Jack spent many months each year with them when her mother visited, and they had a special bond before he came to them full time. She also said that her other pup, Bryn, was a little lost, and their hearts ache, but she’s glad that Jack is no longer suffering.
Earlier this month, Brown documented Jack’s illness on Instagram, and she shared that he had developed an autoimmune type disorder. She announced that the vet said the condition is manageable with medication. However, Jack’s death came as a shock to the TLC star and her fans.
Apart from Jack, Brown has other pets that she often shares glimpses of on social media. She starred in 17 seasons of TLC’s ongoing series Sister Wives, which follows Kody Brown and his polygamous relationships with Meri Brown, Christine Brown, Janelle, and Robyn Brown.
In November 2021, Christine announced that she was leaving Kody, which shocked viewers. Meri also confirmed her split from Kody after being legally married from 1990 to 2014. In December 2022, Janelle announced that she and Kody had called it quits after they initially entered into a spiritual marriage in 1993. Kody is still with Robyn, who he officially exchanged vows with in 2014.
During the Sister Wives: One-on-One special, Janelle explained that they had been separated for several months. She expressed her issues following Christine’s exit from the group and said that she didn’t feel like her children were welcome. Christine offered her thoughts on Janelle’s breakup with Kody, saying that Janelle was frustrated and hurt and that she realized that Kody was totally different.
