Bravo’s reality series Summer House is getting a spinoff, set on Massachusetts island Martha’s Vineyard. The show will feature a cast of all Black friends who love to party in the region during the summer months. Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard will premiere on Bravo in May.
Bravo’s Summer House spinoff, Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, will feature an all-Black cast of friends partying on the island off Massachusetts during the summer, marking one of the first beach destinations where African Americans were allowed to vacation and purchase property.
Bravo is set to premiere its newest reality series, Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, this spring. Unlike the original Summer House show set in the Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard will boast an all-Black cast of friends who love to party on the picturesque island during the summer. In the press release, Bravo promises plenty of drama as newlyweds Jasmine Ellis Cooper and husband Silas Cooper celebrate their first summer as a married couple with their rowdy friends, all under one roof.
Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts is a favorite beach destination of African-American vacationers that has been around for more than 100 years. Known for its natural beauty, romantic sailboats, colorful gingerbread cottages, and cultural identity, the island has become a favorite escape of those who are rich, famous and politically connected.
The cast of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard is composed of 12 working professionals who love to let loose and have a good time. Star Jordan Emanuel insists on dancing, twerking, and dropping it like it’s hot during their summer getaway. However, tension seems to follow the group, with friendship and marriage set to butt heads. Amir Lancaster is seen getting into an argument with another housemate, and things are predicted to escalate this season.
Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard is undoubtedly an excellent addition to Bravo’s programming as it promises to showcase Black excellence in one of the most beautiful and historic vacation spots in the country. Fans can watch the premiere on Sunday, May 7, at 9 p.m. ET.
